One of the most important elements of any
online business is list building. “Money is in the
list”, so building a substantial and – most importantly –
responsive list is crucial for your business.
It is advisable to use multiple methods of
list building strategies. First of all you must get a
squeeze page and an auto responder up and running. A squeeze
page is basically a simple web page that offers the reader
an incentive to join your list. Such an incentive could be a
free ebook, an online course or a free tool for their
business. Then the page must contain an opt-in form,
provided by your auto responder service, to collect the
visitor’s name and email address.
When selling online, whether it’s your own
stuff or promoting other people’s products or services
(affiliate), don’t send your traffic directly to the sales
page, but direct them to your squeeze page and get them
opt-in to your list first. That way you may get both
a new subscriber and a sale. And if you did
not get the sale, you can follow-up with the subscriber and
eventually make a sale later. This is a most important
list
building tactic.
Another list building strategy is having a
subscriber box on your blog, preferably at the top, where
you set up a special offer to your readers in return for
subscribing. Remember, people who visit blogs, and
especially those who post replies, tend to be more active
than others and might be more responsive to your offers once
you have them on your list.
Finally I’ll mention Ebay as a
very good place to “fish” subscribers. You can sell
something (of value) for just 10 cents as an incentive to
get subscribers to your list. Ebay visitors are usually
people who want to buy stuff, so they will be very
responsive subscribers. Thus this might be your very best of
list building strategies. |
